Is the Walkie Talkie not functioning properly on your Apple Watch? The Walkie Talkie on the watch lets you connect to other Apple Watch devices owners, providing a direct channel of communication in the time of need. But, if the walkie-talkie is not working or not letting you connect to your contacts, this article will help you.
Fix 1 – Turn on the FaceTime
You must use the FaceTime and logged in with the Apple ID. You must execute these steps on both the devices.
Step 1 – Load up the iPhone Settings page.
Step 2 – Next, go to the “Apps” tab.
Step 3 – Later, open up the “FaceTime” app.
Step 4 – Turn on the “FaceTime” option there.
Step 5 – Make sure to select your Apple ID mail or phone number in the FaceTime page.
You have to ensure that it is the same case with the other Apple Watch as well.
Check if this works.
Fix 2 – Can’t use the same Apple ID
The Walkie Talkie function uses the Apple ID as the unique identifier for the devices. So, you can’t use the same Apple ID on both the watches.
Step 1 – Simply go to the Settings tab.
Step 2 – Tap the Apple ID banner from the top.
Step 3 – You can get to know about the Apple ID credential from there.
Just ensure that the Apple ID is not the same on the other device. If it is, create or log in with a different Apple ID. This should do the trick for you!
Fix 3 – Connect the watch with iPhone
You have to connect your Apple Watch to the iPhone.
Step 1 – Press the side button on the Apple Watch once.
Step 2 – When the Control Center loads up, you will see a status sign on the top of the watch section.
Step 3 – Tap that once.
Step 4 – If it shows ‘Connected‘ status for the iPhone, you are good to go.
Step 5 – But, if it does show ‘disconnected’ condition, you have to turn on the Bluetooth and Wi-Fi on your iPhone.
While the Apple Watch is connected to your iPhone, there won’t be any problem using the walkie-talkie function.
Fix 4 – Contact is registered on the device
Your contact must be stored on the contact book of the iPhone. Walkie Talkie can let you connect to the other devices.
Step 1 – Open the Phone app on your iPhone.
Step 2 – Go to the “Contacts” tab.
Step 3 – Check whether the number on the Apple Watch is present in the call book. Just search the number.
Step 4 – If the number is not present there, you can save it manually.
Once it is saved, you can use the Walkie Talkie function on the watch.
Fix 5 – Delete and add the friend’s account
If the problem still persists, you can delete the existing one from the Apple Watch and add it once again.
Step 1 – Tap the side button on the watch once.
Step 2 – Next, enable the Walkie Talkie function.
Step 3 – Open up the Walkie Talkie app from the watch.
Step 4 – Delete the current walkie-talkie connection on the app.
Step 5 – After this, you can send a fresh invite to the other Apple Watch holder that you want to connect to.
Step 6 – Once you respond to that request, you can use the walkie-talkie again.
