The Driving Focus on your iPhone can send messages while you are busy driving your car. But, what if the ‘Auto-Reply’ function doesn’t work and don’t send messages to your iPhone? The reason why the ‘Auto-Reply’ function seems not to work is because it is not configured properly. You can just configure the Driving Focus and this problem will be gone soon.
Fix 1 – Configure the Driving Focus
Incorrect Driving Focus mode can lead up to this problem on your iPhone.
Step 1 – You have to open Driver Focus mode. So, open the “Focus” mode on your iPhone.
Step 2 – Open the “Driving” mode to edit that.
Step 3 – In the Driver Focus mode, tap on “Auto Reply” option there.
Step 4 – Here you will find the selection for the ‘Auto-Reply To’ function.
Step 5 – Choose the “All Contacts” option from the list of available options.
Quit the Driving Focus mode. You should test this out and see whether the call or message alerts do get auto-replied to them when you are driving.
Fix 2 – Permit Messages access in the Focus Mode
The reason why the Driving Focus is not replying automatically to your alerts, you must allow the Message application through Focus modes.
Step 1 – Look for this ⚙ icon on the screen and open it there.
Step 2 – Open the “Apps” menu to load the list of apps on your iPhone.
Step 3 – Get to the “Messages” app settings.
Step 4 – In the Messages settings, go to the ‘Allow Messages to Access‘ mode and set the “Focus” mode to “On” mode.
This will allow the Messages app to bypass the Focus mode on your iPhone. This way, Auto-Reply function should work normally.
