Can’t see the Select All Conversations button on your Gmail inbox? Apart from the normal checkbox in the inbox, Gmail offers an additional option to select all the conversations in the inbox. The disappearance of this simple checkbox can be very problematic in many cases. Why the Select All Conversations box from the Gmail inbox?
The main purpose of ‘Select All Conversation’ box is to come into the effect of bulk deleting the email messages from the inbox. While this option is not used by the most users and used only a few times, the significance of this particular feature can not be understated. There is no alternative to this feature, it is not possible for the users to view all their pass email messages on a single browser page. The ‘Select All Conversations’ toggle lets you select all the message in your account, irrespective of the fact whether you are viewing them or not.
Now, this option doesn’t show up if a wrong sort filter is applied on the Gmail inbox. Apart from that, usage of older browser, wrong format to access your Gmail account, may lead to this problem.
Fix 1 – Modify the sort filter
The ‘Select All Conversations’ button only appears when you apply the ‘Most recent’ sort filter on the Gmail page.
Step 1 – On your Gmail inbox page, use the identfier or the filter that you are creating.
Step 2 – Then, tap the checkbox in there to select the available emails in that page.
Step 3 – Now, look for the Sort FilterĀ in there.
Step 4 – If the “Most relevant” option is selected from the drop-down, set this to “Most recent” value.
[ NOTE – You can do sort filter modification before marking the checkbox to select all the emails. ]
Step 5 – Then, you will be able to see the “Select All Conversations” to select all the conversations.
This way, you can now edit your inbox and place the filter or do whatever you were doing.
Fix 2 – Use the latest version of the browser
Though Gmail is supported on all the browser, if you are using an older version of your browser, it can cuase some problem.
Step 1 – If you are using Chrome, tap the “Help” button.
Step 2 – Then, tap the “About Google Chrome” button once.
This way, Chrome will automatically check for the latest build available and download, install the same.
Your browser will prompt you to restart the device to load up the latest version of it. Do that, and you will be able to view the ‘See All Conversation’ option again on the Gmail.
