Gmail not opening on iPhone: Fix

Waiting for a very important email message, but what if the Gmail stops working on your iPhone? Not only, the important mail won’t get into your phone, but you can’t check your inbox if you can’t open the Gmail app at all. If that is the case, you can fix the Gmail app just by following these set of steps on your iPhone.

Fix 1 – Update the Gmail, if applicable

Check whether any update is pending for the Gmail app. If that is the case, you should update it from the App Store.

Step 1 – Get to the App Store.

Step 2 – In the search box, type the “gmail” in the search box.

Step 3 – Open the “Gmail” app to open it up.

Verify your action, if needed, and update the Gmail app on your device.

After updating it to the latest version, open it up and try to check your mails once more.

Fix 2 – Is the Gmail app down?

Sometimes the Gmail app can be down in your region. So, just check whether the service is running correctly or not.

Step 1 – Open a browser on your iPhone.

Step 2 – Do a Google search for “gmail down“.

Step 3 – Open the Down detector to load the current status of the Gmail services.

Step 4 – If the services are not OK, you will get to know that information from here.

Step 5 – But, if you see any error message, the Gmail servers may be down in your region.

In that case, it doesn’t matter whether you are using the app or not, you can’t do anything unless the servers go online.

Fix 3 – Access the Gmail from web browser

If you can’t access your email from the Gmail app, you should try to access the emails from the web browser.

Step 1 – Open the Safari on your iPhone.

Step 2 – Later, open the “Gmail” in there.

Step 3 – You have to input your email address and complete the log in using your account password.

You may have to verify your access using an OTP, notification prompt or a call. Do that to log in properly.

After this, you can check the email messages on your Inbox in Gmail.

Hope these fixes have helped you solve this!
