Are you seeing a location arrow right on the status bar of the iPhone? Usually, the location arrow appears for a very brief few seconds, and then it disappears from the status. This location arrow symbolizes something extremely important on your iPhone, and if it is showing up continuously, something is wrong on the device.
Why the Location Arrow is visible and not disappearing from the iPhone?
The Location arrow that you are seeing in an indication that any or multiple apps or services are using your iPhone’s Location Services. Like – The Weather widget on your Home Screen, when ever it accesses your location information to show up the teatime weather information, the same location arrow blinks in the status bar.
So, no need to worry if the location arrow is visible for a few seconds or so. But, if the Location arrow doesn’t disappear even after some time, then this means that some of the app services are still using the location services in the background. So, you should turn off the Location Services feature on the device.
Fix – Turn off the Location Services
Turning off the Location Services should make the location arrow disappear from the status bar.
Step 1 – At first, go to your Settings tab.
Step 2 – Next, open up the “Privacy & Security” features.
Step 3 – Later, touch to open the “Location Services” settings.
Step 4 – Scroll down to the bottom and open up the “System Services” menu.
Step 5 – Next, slide down through the options until you can see the “Status Bar Icon” menu. Turn this off.
Once you have turned it off, you won’t see the location arrow again in the status bar. It won’t show up even when the services or apps access the location services on the iPhone.
Fix 2 – Uninstall the location-using apps
If you have installed a third-party application on your iPhone, and it is using the location services, you should get rid of that specific app.
Step 1 – You have to know which app is accessing the location services. So, open up the Settings.
Step 2 – Next, go this way –
Privacy & Security > Location Services
Step 3 – In that Location Services tab, you will get an extensive list of apps that have requested the location permissions.
Step 4 – Look for any suspicious app that you have installed recently.
If you can see any such entry there, you have to uninstall that app from your iPhone.
