Songs are greyed out in Spotify app on iPhone – How to fix

Does some of the tracks in your playlist greyed out on the Spotify app? If you are a veteran Spotify user, you may have noticed this behavior with some of the tracks on the Spotify app. The task of unwinding the greyed out tracks is quite easy, and you can do it yourself following these steps.

Why some of the songs are hidden in Spotify app?

While surfing through the various songs in all the playlists on the Spotify, you may have noticed that some of the songs are greyed out. This thing can happen to almost all the playlists, even the one that you have created manually from your account.

It is impossible for someone to like all the songs of a particular playlist. So, if you or someone on the shared playlist have hide up a song, the particular track should show up as greyed out or unavailable. The main objective of this procedure is to skip the songs that you don’t want while playing the complete playlist.

Fix 1 – Unhide the song

You can un-hide the song very easily.

Step 1 – Open up the Spotify app and reach the playlist where you are facing this problem.

Step 2 – After you have opened up the playlist, go through the songs and find out the one that is greyed out or hidden.

Step 3 – Tap the three-dot button next to it.

tap the three bar button min

Step 4 – After this, tap the “Unhide” to retrieve the song on the playlist.

This is the only way you can retrieve the song in the playlist.

You can now stream the song normally. Play it once to confirm that.

Fix 2 – The song is not available

The actual song that you are looking for may not available in Spotify. Every track or sound on Spotify has a fixed agreement with the organization. This includes the location, availability of the songs, the date of the record and so much more. So, when a track of your choice goes out of contract, Spotify automatically gray marks the song.

If that is the case, you can’t do anything to stream the song from Spotify. There are other alternatives present in this case, such as to stream the song directly via YouTube or Apple Music. Hiding the unplayable songs can be the solution in this case.

Step 1 – Open up the Spotify app and tap the profile picture.

Step 2 – Tap the “Settings & Privacy” option.
