Is the touch screen on your iPhone not responding to your inputs? If you are in this situation, you may have already realized that you got yourself in a very serious situation. When the iPhone’s screen itself is not reachable, there are only a handful of solutions that you can try, and we have mentioned all of those. So, without wasting a bit of time, you must follow these steps to solve the problem on your own.
Fix 1 – Force reboot the iPhone
In these situations, we recommend the force-reboot method as the primary and first solution for quick resolution. Follow the steps carefully.
Step 1 – What you need to do at first is to tap the Volume Up button once and release that at once.
Step 2 – At the next step, hit the Volume Down button and release that as well.
Step 3 – To force-restart the iPhone, what you need to do is to hold on to the Power button of the device. Your iPhone screen will get switched off and the iPhone will be rebooted very soon.
When that happens, do check whether you can use the iPhone’s touch screen or not.
Fix 2 – Update all the apps
If you are yet to find a solution to this issue, you must update all the apps on your iPhone.
Step 1 – Go to App Store to do this.
Step 2 – There, find your Apple ID icon in the top-right corner and tap that.
Step 3 – On the Account page, just scroll down and find the “Update All” option.
Step 4 – Tap that to update all the apps installed on your iPhone.
This is a lengthy process and the time takes to update all the apps may vary according to the network speed, number of apps that have an update.
Fix 3 – Disconnect any external devices
Are you using the iPhone with a Mac or connected to a device using a lightning/USB cable? Sometimes, this may make the touch screen unavailable.
So, you must disconnect any and all such external peripherals from your iPhone. Even if you have connected Bluetooth audio devices or other items (mouse, keyboard, etc.), you must disconnect the iPhone from them.
Fix 4 – Update the iPhone
A peculiar bug or glitch of some sort can cause this issue. To eradicate any such software-related possibilities, you must be using the latest version of iOS.
Step 1 – Close all the apps on your iPhone. Connect to the Wi-Fi.
Step 2 – Then, go straight to the “General” part of the settings.
Step 3 – On the General page of Settings, touch the “Software Update” part to get there.
The Software Update page does contain the necessary information to update your iPhone.
Step 4 – If you see any pending updates there, tap the “Update Now” button.
Your iPhone will get the update and all you have to do is to wait. When the device gets restarted, the touch screen will become interactive once again.
Fix 5 – Clean up the iPhone
Clearing up the iPhone with a microfiber cloth or something. Sometimes, the items on the iPhone screen can cause the touch panel to misbehave.
Step 1 – At first, lock the iPhone.
Step 2 – Now, use a clean, soft piece of microfiber cloth to clear up the iPhone screen.
Step 3 – Use the piece of cloth to clean up the iPhone properly.
Once you have cleared the iPhone screen, check whether the touch screen is working or not.
