iPhone Screen Recording Not Working [Solved]

Sometimes iPhone users might need to record their screen for sharing the demonstration purpose or to record some live stream from YouTube or other apps to save the content. But many iPhone users are complaining about the screen recording problem they are facing on their iPhones recently.

The users are not sure why all of sudden they are not able to use screen recording on their iPhones. Some users were able to record their screens but after which they are not able to save the recordings to their iPhones.

The reasons for this problem might be one of the following listed below.

  1. Outdated iPhone’s iOS
  2. Content restrictions on the iPhone for screen recording may be the reason
  3. No storage space left on the iPhone
  4. Low Power Mode has been activated
  5. Some app owners copy-protect their content from getting recorded by others (Cannot do anything about it! You just simply can’t record the screen only in this case)

After analyzing these points, we have gathered many solutions elaborated in the article below that would assist any iPhone user in fixing this issue.

Preliminary Fixes

Restart the iPhone

Due to some minor technical glitches, such issues arise in any smart devices these days and this might also be the reason behind this issue as discussed above. Some iPhone users have been able to resolve this problem by restarting their iPhones once. Therefore, we recommend our users also try restarting their iPhones.

To do so first, go to the Settings page and navigate to the General option. After that, scroll down to the bottom and click on Shut Down and follow the instructions to shut down the iPhone. Now you can start the iPhone by pressing and holding together the volume-up and power buttons till you see the Apple logo on the screen.

Check your iPhone Storage

Many iPhone users not only faced the screen recording problem but also found that after recording their screen, they were unable to save it and get discarded. This usually happens when the storage on the iPhone is full and there is no space left for the recordings to be stored.

In order to check what is occupying the space on your iPhone, you need to go to Settings > General > iPhone Storage. The page might take some time to load all the information regarding iPhone storage.

Now try and clear any files, videos, apps, or anything else to make sure there is enough space to store the recordings.

NOTE – This can also happen when the battery goes below 20%, in that case, please charge your iPhone immediately.

Step 1: Open the Settings app first.

Step 2: Scroll down and search for the Battery option from the list.

There are certain features on the iPhone that can be restricted by the user so that nobody else can use them on their iPhone. This can be done via Content & Privacy Restrictions. So the user needs to allow the screen recordings to work from not getting restricted as shown in the steps below.

Step 1: First you need to go to the Settings app on your iPhone.

Step 2: Then search for the Screen Time option and tap on it as shown in the below screenshot.
