Does your iMessage creating random sounds even when the sound is off? If that is the case, and you are on a hunt to find a resolution of this, you have arrived at the right place. We have discussed the reason behind this problem, along with the possible solutions to fix the problem on your own.
Why the iMessage is creating random sound, even when the sound is off?
Whenever you try to send a voice note to someone, it makes a small chiming sound and initiate the note making process. But, if you can’t complete the note-taking process, it does make another sound in the process. This can be the sound that you are hearing in the iMessage app.
According to some users, the sound iMessage app is making is the same as when you try to use the dictate function (the voice to text feature). The beep sound that you are getting is the one when the iPhone is trying to use the voice to text option.
Fix 1 – Disable the Raise To Listen feature
The Raise to Listen feature does allow listening the incoming messages. So, whenever you lift the iPhone upon receiving the message, it will play the sound.
Step 1 – At first, open up the iPhone Settings.
Step 2 – When you have opened up the Settings page, travel to the bottom of the same page. There, you need to go to the “Apps” option.
Step 3 – Next, you must open up the “Messages” app there.
Step 4 – When you have opened up the Messages settings, just scroll down and locate the “Raise to Listen” feature.
Step 5 – This is the feature that has caused the problem in the first place. So, you must disable this option.
After disabling this feature, you won’t face the same sound problem with the iMessage app.
See if this has worked out for you.
Fix 2 – Reset all the iPhone settings
There are some intricate features and settings present in the iPhone that can cause the Messages app to behave this way. So, you must reset all the settings.
Step 1 – At first, go to your iPhone Settings.
Step 2 – After opening up the Settings page, open up the “General” settings.
Step 3 – Now, you need to open up the “Transfer or reset iPhone” option.
Step 4 – Next, you have to tap the “Reset” button there.
Step 5 – Later, tap to choose the “Reset All Settings” option to reset all the iPhone settings at once.
Step 6 – This particular step requires verification. So, input that and you are through.
The iPhone does get rebooted quickly during this process. So, when it reboots, see whether the iMessage is making any such sound or not.
