Preliminary Tips
- Restart the iPhone – Restarting the iPhone can sometimes clear all the minor glitches within the iPhone device and this can instantly fix this issue easily.
- Update your iPhone – iPhone can cause several problems because you have not installed the recent updates from Apple. So try updating your iPhone and check whether you are able to use the Voice To Text feature on your iPhone.
- Check if the microphone is working – If the microphone is not working properly on your iPhone, this can lead to such an issue as discussed above in this article. Try checking whether your microphone is working by recording your voice on the Voice Memos app on your iPhone and try to get it repaired.
Fix 1 – Turn On the Enable Dictation settings
Step 1: Locate the settings icon and click on it.
Step 2: This launches the Settings app on your iPhone and then click on the General option.
Step 3: Select the Keyboard option from the General page menu as shown in the below image.
Step 4: Scroll down the Keyboards page to the bottom and turn on the Enable Dictation option by clicking on its toggle button.
Step 5: You may have to click Enable Dictation on the pop-up window as shown below.
Fix 2 – Check the Content & Privacy Restrictions
Step 1: Go to the Settings page on your iPhone first.
Step 2: After you get to the Settings app, select the Screen Time option from the list as shown in the below screenshot.
Step 3: Next, tap on the Content & Privacy Restrictions option.
Step 4: Now select the Allowed Apps option by tapping on it.
Step 5: Here you should make sure the Siri & Dictation option is enabled as shown in the below image.
Fix 3 – Disconnect any Bluetooth device from your iPhone
Step 1: Open the Settings app first and click on the Bluetooth option by clicking on it.
Step 2: Next, select the Bluetooth device you had connected earlier to your iPhone by clicking on its “i” symbol on the right side.
Step 3: Afterwards, click Forget This Device.
Step 4: Make sure to click Forget Device.
Step 5: This will erase the Bluetooth device details which will not allow it to connect automatically to your iPhone.
Fix 4 – Enable the Hey Siri feature on iPhone
Step 1: You should, first of all, go to the Settings app on your iPhone.
Step 2: Once the Settings app appears, scroll down and click on the Siri & Search option from the settings menu as shown.
Step 3: Next, click on Listen for “Hey Siri” toggle switch to enable it.
Step 4: It will pop up a small window menu on your iPhone screen.
Step 5: Tap on Enable Siri and thereby follow all the onscreen instructions to complete the process to enable Hey Siri on your iPhone.
Fix 5 – Disable Low Power Mode
Step 1: Launch the Settings page on the iPhone first of all.
Step 2: Now go to the Battery option from the settings page.
Step 3: You then have to disable the Low Power Mode option by clicking on the toggle switch as shown below.
Fix 6 – Reset All Settings on your iPhone
Even after trying all the above fixes if you are not able to resolve this issue, then you need to reset all settings on your iPhone. This will ensure that all the settings are reset to its defaults values and the issue would be easily fixed on your iPhone.
