Many iPhone users are getting an error while trying to login into the Facebook app on their iPhones. When they tried accessing the Facebook app, an error message that says as shown below.

No matter how many times the users have tried, it threw the same error again and again. This error mainly occurs due to one of the following reasons listed below.
- Technical glitch within the Facebook app on iPhone.
- Outdated Facebook app or the iPhone.
- Very poor internet connection on the iPhone.
- Corrupted data or cache on the Facebook app
- The Facebook server might be down
- Network settings must have been altered on the iPhone mistakenly.

Fix 1 – Offload the Facebook App and Reinstall it again
Instead of uninstalling and then installing any application on an iPhone, you can offload the application which clears the program data of the app without losing any of the settings or personal account information saved or related to the app.
Here are the steps on how you can do it easily.
Step 1: Open the Settings page on the iPhone first of all.
Step 2: Then move to the General page by tapping on the general option as shown below.
Step 3: Now click on the iPhone Storage option.
Step 4: You might have to wait till the system loads all the information about all the applications installed on the iPhone.
Step 5: Once it is loaded, scroll down the list of apps and look for the Facebook app.
Step 6: Now click on the Facebook option.
Step 7: When it opens, tap on the Offload App option as shown in the image below.
Step 8: To confirm it again, tap on Offload App on the popup context menu as shown.
Step 9: After it is done offloading the Facebook app, click on the Reinstall App option as shown below.
Step 10: This will start installing the Facebook app back on your iPhone.
Fix 2 – Check the Date & Time on iPhone
Sometimes, it happens that these kinds of problems like login errors, etc. are caused due to incorrect date and time being set on any device. So let us try changing the date and time and putting it correctly on the iPhone by following the steps explained below.
Step 1: Unlock your iPhone first and go to the Settings page by tapping on the settings icon from the home screen.
Step 2: Now you have to select the General option as shown below.
Step 3: Scroll down a bit and tap on the Date & Time option.
Step 4: Now make sure the Set Automatically option is enabled by clicking on its toggle button as shown in the below screenshot.
Fix 3 – Reset Network Settings
Many iPhone users claimed that they fixed this issue by resetting the network settings on their iPhones. This refreshes and resets all the network settings and after the resetting process is done, the user has to re-sign into various network settings like Wi-Fi, VPN, etc.
Let us see how to reset network settings on any iPhone using the following steps.
Step 1: First, you need to head to the Settings page on the iPhone from the home screen.
Step 2: Then scroll down the Settings page and find the General option and tap on it as shown below.
Step 3: After it opens, at the bottom of the General page, click the Transfer or Reset iPhone option as shown in the below screenshot.
Step 4: Select the Reset option below.
Step 5: You will be prompted with a context menu where you need to pick Reset Network Settings from the list as shown.
Step 6: This might ask you to enter the passcode of your iPhone to continue.
Step 7: Once entered the correct passcode, confirm it again by tapping on Reset Network Settings.
Step 8: This will immediately start to reset the network settings on your iPhone.
Step 9: Once it is completed, you will not face this error again.
Fix 4 – Check the Internet connection
The Facebook app requires a strong internet connection to log into your account using the credentials. So there is a possibility that the weak internet connection could be the reason behind this Facebook login error on the iPhone.
Try restarting the Wi-Fi router and if still, the internet signal does not get better, try switching to mobile data. For that, you need to navigate to Settings > Mobile Data and enable the Mobile Data option by tapping on its toggle button.
Fix 5 – Check if the Facebook server is down
There are chances that the Facebook server might be shut down temporarily for maintenance or other obvious reasons. So if that happens, there is nothing you can do other than wait for some hours and then check again.

Fix 6 – Force Close the Facebook app and Reopen it
If this issue is caused due to some technical problem with the Facebook app, you can always try force closing it from running in the background and then restart the app once again on the iPhone and see if this resolves the issue.
Step 1: You need to open the App switcher on the iPhone.
Step 2: To do so, swipe from the left bottom of the iPhone screen towards the right side exponentially.
Step 3: After the App Switcher appears, swipe the list of applications currently running in the background and find the Facebook app.
Step 4: Swipe the Facebook app upwards from the apps to force close it.
Step 5: After it is closed, reopen it by tapping on the Facebook app from your home screen.
Fix 7 – Update the Facebook app
If you have not installed any update from the Facebook app for any improvements or to resolve any bug within the app, it might throw such problems like login errors, etc. So try checking whether the Facebook app is the latest version that is installed on your iPhone using the steps below.
Step 1: To do so first, you need to open the App Store on your iPhone.
Step 2: After the App Store is opened, tap on the Search button at the bottom bar of the App Store window.
Step 3: Next, search for the Facebook app by typing Facebook on the search bar at the top as shown in the below screenshot.
Step 4: Once you get to the Facebook page, if there is any update available, there appears an Update button.
NOTE – If the Facebook app is the latest version then it will display Open.
Step 5: After updating your Facebook app, check whether the issue is resolved.
Additional Fixes
Update the iPhone
Many users have found that after updating their iPhones with all the pending updates, they resolved many major and minor problems that were troubling them. So in order to fix this error, you got to update your iPhone.
To do so, you need to go to the Settings page and select the General option and then navigate to the Software Update page. Download and install any updates available on your iPhone and also make sure there is a speedy internet connection.
Restart the iPhone
