How To Change Display And Editing Language In Excel

Microsoft Office by default matches and sets the language that your computer system has currently. Suppose you are using English as your preferred language on your computer then, Microsoft Office products also display the English language. For example, if you want to present your project in some other language say German then you will need to change the display and editing language of Office products like Excel, word PowerPoint, etc or for some reason, you may want to change the language then it is easy and can be done in few steps. How To Change The Display Language In Excel

 

Step 1 – Open the Microsoft Excel

Step 2 – On the top left corner click on the File option

Step 3 – At the bottom left, click on Options

Step 4 – In the opened window, at the left click on the language

Step 5 – Under the Office display language section click on add a language button

Step 6 – A window appears saying Install a display language, scroll down and select the language you need by clicking on it. For example here I will select German language

Step 7 – Then click on the install button

Step 8 – A pop up window will appear, click on ok

Step 9 – It will take some time to install and again a pop up window will appear saying to close the excel, click on continue and then click on ok

Step 10 – Now close all the office applications including excel and the Office application starts getting updated. Wait for few minutes

Step 11 – And the language is changed. Now open the excel and check, the language will be changed to the one you had selected.

 

How To Change The Editing Language In Excel

 

Step 1 – Open the Microsoft Excel

Step 2 – On the top left corner click on the File option

Step 4 – In the opened window, at the left click on the language

Step 5 – Under Office authoring languages and proofing, click on add a language button

Step 6 In the add an authoring language window, select the required language by clicking on it. As an example here I have taken German (Austria)

Step 8 – Select the added language and click on set as preferred button

Step 9 – In the pop up window click on yes

Step 10 – Restart the excel and the changed settings are applied.
