If you are a scroller, you might find it extremely hard if you cannot view Instagram comments while you are engaged in your day-to-day scrolling. It definitely leads to a lot of frustration and much to our surprise, many users have complained about the same in the recent days. Many users have reported that when they scroll through their Instagram feed, they have to press the comment button associated with each post to view the comments associated with it. It is not yet confirmed whether this is a bug or a feature.
However, there are some solutions that we have curated, that are known to have worked for some users to fix this issue. So, without waiting further, let’s dig in straight away, shall we? Hope you find the article useful.
Solution 1: Make Sure the Network Connection is Stable
Sometimes you might not be able to view the Instagram comments just because your network connection is not stable. So the very first thing you should do is to make sure that your network connection is proper. Try playing a video from YouTube and check if it is playing fine. If not, you can conclude that something is wrong with your network connection.
You could try switching to a Wi-Fi connection if you are connected to the Internet via a cellular data connection. If you are already on a Wi-Fi connection, you can try connecting to a different Wi-Fi network. Once you have made sure that your network connection is all fine, check if you can view the Instagram comments or not.
Solution 2: Force Stop Instagram
For some users, a simple force-stopping operation of the Instagram application has readily fixed the issue. Let’s see how to get this done in the steps below.
Step 1: Locate the Instagram application from the app drawer, long press on it, and then click on the App info button from the tiny pop-up menu.
Step 2: As next, at the bottom of the screen, click on the Force stop button.
Step 3: When you get the following confirmation window to Force stop the application, hit the OK button.
That’s it. Relaunch the application and check if you can see the comments now or not.
Solution 3: Reboot the Device
The solution that works almost always for Android devices is the reboot operation. Try restarting your device once and then check if your issue is resolved or not.
Solution 4: Clear Instagram Application Cache
In this solution, let’s try clearing off the Instagram application cache in some simple steps and see if that fixes our issue.
Step 1: Once again, long press on the Instagram application and click on the App info button from the tiny pop-up menu just like in the previous solution.
Step 2: As next, click on the Storage option from the list of options available.
Step 3: On the Storage screen, you need to click on the Clear cache button to clear off the application cache.
That’s it. Check if you can now view comments without facing any issues or not.
Solution 5: Update Instagram Application
For many users, they faced the issue because their Instagram application was missing some important application updates. So, let’s try updating your Instagram to the latest version available in this solution.
Step 1: Open the app drawer and click on the Play Store application.
Step 2: As next, using the search bar at the top of the Play Store application, search for the Instagram application and click on it.
Step 3: If you have any pending updates available, you will be able to view the Update button instead of the Open button. Click on it to update your application.
If there are no pending updates available, there will be no Update button.
Once the application is updated, launch it once again and check if your issue is fixed or not.
Solution 6: Reinstall Instagram
If none of the above solutions worked for you, let’s now try uninstalling and installing your Instagram in this solution. This solution would most probably do the trick for you.
Step 1: Once again, long press on the Instagram application and click on the App info button from the pop-up menu.
Step 2: At the bottom of the screen, click on the Force stop button next.
Step 3: When the following confirmation window pops open, click on the OK button to proceed with the force stop.
Step 4: Now, let’s go ahead and uninstall the application. For that, click on the Uninstall button at the bottom of the screen as shown below.

Step 8: Once the application is installed, click on the Open button to launch it.
Step 9: Log in to Instagram and check if your issue is now fixed or not.
Solution 7: Leave Instagram Beta Program
Through Beta programs, users get to experience the newest features of their favorite applications free of cost. That is, developers release their not so fully tested features to the general public through their beta programs. It is one’s choice whether or not one wants to enroll in a beta program. Though it definitely is cool to be one of the few ones to get to experience the latest features of an application first, beta releases are often erroneous.
So, one main reason why you might be facing the issue with Instagram being unable to show you comments issue could be because you are enrolled in Instagram’s beta program and thus you are having an unstable version of the application installed on your device. So, leaving the Instagram beta program should fix your issue in that case.
Step 1: Launch the Play Store application.
Step 2: Search for the Instagram application and click on it from the search results.
Step 3: Scroll down and find the section named You’re a beta tester. Click on the Leave button associated with it to leave the beta program instantly. If you are not a beta tester, you will not see this option. Instead, you will see something like Join the beta program.
Once you have left the beta program, relaunch Instagram and check if your issue is gone or not.
Note: Please note that getting a seat back at the beta program again might be a little difficult as Instagram’s beta program is in great demand among its billions of users.
Note: If the issue is still not fixed, it could be an actual issue from Instagram itself. So, in that case, you might have to wait it out. And there is a great possibility that it could be a feature too, just saying.
