Many times we may need to clean up some space on our hard drive and that can be done using the Disk Cleanup feature in the C drive properties. Cleaning up your hard drive regularly ensures that your PC runs smoothly. However, many users report of Disk Cleanup is missing in drive properties in their Windows 10 PC.
If you are not using any 3rd party software to cleanup your hard drive and are just dependent on this feature, it can be frustrating. The good news is, you can get the Disk Cleanup option back in the drive properties. Let’s see how.
Method 1: Through Recycle Bin Properties
Step 1: Go to your desktop and right-click on Recycle Bin. Select Properties from the context menu.
Step 2: In the Recycle Bin Properties dialogue box, under the General tab, go to the Settings for selected location section. Here, select the radio button next to Custom size.
Press Apply and then OK to save the changes and exit.
Step 3: Now, press the Windows key + E together to open the File Explorer window. Click on This PC on the left side of the pane.
Now, on the right side of the pane, right-click on the C drive and select Properties from the context menu.
You can now see the Disk Cleanup button in the drive properties. But, if the problem persists, try the 2nd method.
Method 2: Using the Run Command
Using this method, you can directly proceed to cleanup your hard drive. Let’s see how.
Step 1: Press the Windows key + R together on your keyboard to open the Run command. Now, copy the below command and paste it in the Run command search box:
