Could Not Load File Or Assembly “MOM.Implementation” Error Fix

Are you facing “Could Not Load File Or Assembly MOM.Implementation” Error while trying to install AMD Catalyst software? This might be because the .Net framework that you are using cannot find all the files that are needed for the successful installation of the software. In this article, we have listed a few methods which are helpful to solve the issue in Windows 10 system.

Method 1: Disable Catalyst Control Center from Startup

 

Step 1: Open the run prompt using Windows + R keys together

Step 2: Type taskmgr in the run prompt and hit enter to open the task manager

Step 3: In the Task Manager window, click on the Startup tab and find Catalyst Control Center. Right-click on it and from the appeared list select disable

Step 4: Also find GU Options, right-click on it, and from the appeared list select disable

Step 5: Close the task manager and restart the system. Check if the error is resolved.



Method 2: Roll back The Driver

 

Step 1: Open the run prompt using Windows + R keys together

Step 2: Type devmgmt.msc and hit enter. This will open the Device Manager

Step 3: Find for Display adapters and expand it.

Step 4: Right click on the graphics adapter and from the appeared list, click on Properties

Step 5:  In the properties window, go to the Driver tab and click on the Roll Back Driver button. Follow the onscreen instructions to roll back the driver.

Step 6: To save the changes click on OK and close the window

Note: If the Roll Back Driver option is disabled that means there is no previous driver to roll back. So uninstall the graphics card completely by clicking on that particular driver and then click on the Action tab at the top and select uninstall device.

Then again go to the action tab and click on Scan for hardware changes to re-install default driver. Now check if the issue is solved.

Method 3: Perform a Clean Boot

 

Step 1: Open the run prompt using Windows + R keys together

Step 2: Type msconfig  and hit enter. This will open the System configuration

Step 3: Go to the Services tab and at the bottom, click on the checkbox (a tick mark should be present in the box) beside Hide all Microsoft services.

Step 4: On the right side, click on the Disable all button.

Step 5: Go to the Startup tab and click on the Open Task Manager link.

Step 6: It will take you to the Startup tab in the Task Manager

Step 7: Disable all the startup applications in Task Manager. To do this right click on the first app and click on Disable

Step 8: Repeat this for all the apps.

Step 9: Go back to the System Configuration window and click on apply and ok to save the changes.

Step 10: Restart the computer and check if the issue is solved. If the problem is resolved, then repeat the [Steps 1 to 3]

Step 11: Right click on the first app and click on enable, repeat this for all the apps one by one by which you can identify the problematic app.

Method 4: Repair the AMD Catalyst Install Manager

Note: Before proceeding further make sure you Login to your computer as an administrator or else you will not be able to execute few things in the wizard.

Step 1: Open the run prompt using Windows + R keys together

Step 2: Type appwiz.cpl and hit enter. This opens the Programs and Features window in the control panel

Step 3: Under Uninstall or change a program, find AMD Catalyst Install Manager. Right-click on it and select Change or repair

Step 4: A prompt “AMD Catalyst Install Manager – InstallShield Wizard” will appear.

Step 5: Click on Next until you see the Uninstall/Repair AMD Software Components window. This has three choices “Uninstall Manager”, “Repair Catalyst Install Manager”, “Express Uninstall ALL AMD Software”

Step 6: Choose the Repair Catalyst Install Manager option and click Next.

Step 7: In the appeared window, click on Repair. Wait for the process to complete

Step 8: Restart the computer nd check if the error is solved.

Method 5: Install And Enable .Net Framework

 

Step 1: Download the latest version of .Net Framework 

Step 2: Once the download is finished, double click on the downloaded .exe file and follow the onscreen instructions to install it.

Step 3: Open the run prompt using Windows + R keys together.

Step 4: Type appwiz.cpl  in the run prompt and hit enter. This will open the Programs and Features window

Step 5: At the right side, click on Turn Windows features on or off

Step 6: In the opened Windows features, click on the check box beside .Net framework 4 series. For example I have .Net framework 4.8 advanced series, so I have selected it

Step 7: Click on OK to save the changes and exit from the window

Step 8: Restart the computer and check if the issue is solved.

Note: If the .NET Framework 4 series is already enabled in your computer, you can repair the .NET Framework. When doing so, uncheck the .NET Framework 4 series by clicking on the checkbox beside it, restart the computer. Once it is restarted enable it again [step 6 – Step 8].

Method 6: Uninstall and Re-install the ATI Catalyst Drivers

 

Step 1: Open the run prompt using Windows + R keys together

Step 2: Type devmgmt.msc and hit enter. This will open the Device Manager

Step 3: Find for Display adapters and expand it.



Step 4: Right click on the AMD  graphics card adapter and from the appeared list, click on uninstall device

Step 5: In the Uninstall Device prompt that appears, click on Uninstall button

This will uninstall the AMD graphics card and only remove the device and hence, you must run the AMD clean up utility to remove all the files. To do that follow the below steps.

Step 6: Now download the AMD Clean Uninstall Utility

Step 7: Once the download is complete, double click on the .exe file to install it.

Step 8: A AMD cleanup utility pop up will appear, click on OK to proceed further.

Step 9: This will uninstall all the files and registry entries. Once the uninstall process is done a pop up will appear and click on Finish

Step 10: In the appeared window click on yes and then restart the computer. After restart the AMD graphics card driver will get automatically installed. And now check if the issue is solved.

Method 7: Uninstall the Catalyst Center Only If You Aren’t Using AMD Products

Note : If you are using an AMD graphics card, skip this method.

Step 1: Open the run prompt using Windows + R keys together.

Step 2: Type appwiz.cpl  in the run prompt and hit enter. This will open the Programs and Features window

Step 3: Find for Catalyst Control Center and right click on it and click on Uninstall

Step 4: In the AMD Catalyst Center uninstall wizard click on Next and follow the onscreen instruction to uninstall it.

Step 5:  Restart the computer and check if the issue is resolved.
