Is the Chrome browser on your iPhone redirecting you to the Instagram app? This sort of problem have a unique fix. We have discussed the problem in details and why even Chrome force-opening the Instagram app instead of opening it up directly on the web browser. Along with that, we have shown the steps to fix this problem in detailed steps.
Why Chrome is opening the Instagram app, not the web page?
The main reason why Chrome is opening up the Instagram app, not the Instagram webpage, is because of the redirection and deep link. Whenever you try to access Instagram from Chrome on your iPhone, it tries to find the Instagram app installed on the device, or takes you to the App Store to get the app. The main theory behind this is the mobile app has a better optimized experience than that of what the web version offers.
To counter this issue, you have to just open the Instagram in a new tab on Chrome. When you do this, the redirection doesn’t take you to the Instagram app and let you operate from the Instagram webpage.
Fix – Open up the Instagram in a separate tab
The best solution for this problem is to open the Instagram website on a new tab, instead of opening it directly on the following browser page.
Step 1 – Simply, open a Chrome tab and search for “Instagram” website.
Step 2 – There, you can just hold the “Instagram” in the search box and tap the “Open in New Tab” option.
This way, Instagram will load up in the new tab.
Step 3 – Tap the “Tab switcher” button in the bottom dock.
Step 4 – Now, you can go to the new tab to find Instagram log-in page. Use your credentials to log in to your Instagram account.
You can now enjoy Instagram on the webpage. If you want to open the Instagram app, you can do that from the ‘Open’ option on Instagram as well.
NOTE – If Chrome is still force-opening the Instagram app, you can try to use that in the incognito mode. These are the only steps you have to follow to access Chrome in incognito mode.
1. Search for Instagram in a fresh new tab in Google Chrome.
2. Next, tap and hold the Instagram in the search results and use the “Open in Incognito tab” option.
This way, Instagram will load up in a private tab. Now, while using the incognito tab, you have to input your log-in IDs manually as the saved passwords are not available.
Hope the trick has worked for you!
