Can’t provide permission to your microphone for your iPhone apps? There are several apps that need microphone permission to serve its purpose on your device. But, what if you can’t permit microphone permission to applications? Microphone permission works as a toggle so that only the user can control it. So, follow these steps without delaying anymore.
Fix 1 – Allow the Microphone permissions
You can take control of the Microphone permission if you have placed the Privacy Restrictions on your device.
Step 1 – Go to the iPhone Settings.
Step 2 – Thereafter, load up the “Screen Time” settings.
Step 3 – You have to open the “Content & Privacy Restrictions” module.
Step 4 – Later, load up the “Microphone” settings.
Step 5 – Make sure the “Allow Changes” option is selected.
Step 6 – Now, you shall see a list of apps that have requested microphone permissions. If the app that you are having this problem, make sure it is enabled.
Re-open the application and check if this works. Send a demo microphone recording or do a video call to test this out.
Fix 2 – Check the Microphone toggle for the app
You have to manually allow the microphone for the application.
Step 1 – Open up the Settings window on your iPhone.
Step 2 – Later, tap the “Apps” panel.
Step 3 – Open the application from the list.
Step 4 – Find the “Microphone” toggle in there. Turn on the microphone in there.
If you can’t find the microphone toggle in the app settings, follow these steps –
a. Open the application.
b. Try to use the microphone once again. Example – If you are facing the problem with Messenger, try to send a demo voice recording.
Later, you will find the microphone permission toggle in the app settings page. Check if this works.
Fix 3 – Hard reset the device
The Hard Reset process, or the force restart procedure, can be the answer to your problem.
Step 1 – To do this, quit all the current applications running on your iPhone.
Step 2 – Next, press the Volume Up button once.
Step 3 – On the subsequent step, press and release the Volume Down key.
Step 4 – Finally, press and hold the Power button. Keep pressing the button until it force restarts.
Check if this works.
Fix 4 – Uninstall and reinstall the app
Uninstall the application is question and reinstall the application.
Step 1 – Find the application in the app library or locate the app icon on the screen.
Step 2 – Later, hold the app icon and tap “Delete App” to delete the app.
Once you have deleted the application, you can reinstall the same from the App Store.
Step 3 – Open the App Store.
Step 4 – Search for the application and later, install that app.
The next time when you want to access the microphone on that app, it will request to access the same. Permit the microphone access, or you can follow the steps mentioned in the second solution to troubleshoot the issue.
