Can’t see the birthdays of your friends or colleagues on the Calendar app on your iPhone? Calendar has become such an integral part of our Office and daily lives that we can’t function properly without the Calendar app showing events or Birthdays. Fixing this issue with the Calendar app won’t take much time, and you can solve the issue following these steps.
Fix 1 – Change the Default Alert Time for Birthdays
It is possible that the default alert time for the Birthdays or other events is set to ‘None’ mode. Changing this should do the trick.
Step 1 – Go to the Settings page on your iPhone.
Step 2 – Scroll down and open the “Apps” panel to get access to the apps.
Step 3 – After opening the Apps section, open the “Calendar” settings.
Step 4 – In the Calendar settings page, tap the “Default Alert Times” option.
Step 5 – When the Default Alert Times panel opens up, open the “Birthdays” or “Events” or “All-Day Events” item from there.
You have to change the settings for the particular item that you are having this problem with.
Step 6 – Next, you have to set the Alert to anything except the “None” option. You may choose anything from “On day of event” to “1 week before” term.
After changing this alert level on your iPhone, the Birthday or any other event will get alerted normally.
Do test whether you can view or alert or not.
Fix 2 – Enable cellular data permission for Mail, Calendar apps
Turn on the Mail, Calendar and other few apps to check whether that fixes the issue with the Calendar app on your iPhone.
Step 1 – You must go to this Settings tab.
Step 2 – Open the “Mobile Service” or “Mobile Data” settings.
Step 3 – In the Mobile Data settings, find the list of apps in the ‘Mobile data’ section.
Step 4 – Tap the “Show All” option to see the complete list of apps on your iPhone.
Step 5 – Once you get to view the complete list of apps, go through them and find the “Mail“, “Contacts” and the “Calendar” app.
Step 6 – If you see the mobile data is blocked, you have to enable it in there.
Once you have enabled these few settings, you can use the Calendar app once more.
Fix 3 – Use the correct email account
If you have multiple email accounts on your iPhone, you may be viewing Calendars associated with the other account. In that case, using the correct email account should sync up the Birthdays properly.
Fix 4 – Enable the Calendar for your account
You must permit access to the Calendar of your account. Otherwise, the Birthdays or Events just won’t show up in the Calendar.
Step 1 – Go to the Calendar app, first.
Step 2 – Next, tap the “Calendars” on the bottom bar.
Step 3 – In the following Calendars settings, you will see all your ‘Gmail’, ‘iCloud’ accounts there.
Step 4 – You must turn on the Calendar for the accounts you want in there. Just check the ones you want and tap “Done“.
Minimize the Calendar app and go to the Settings.
Step 5 – Go to the “Apps” option.
Step 6 – In the Apps page, find and open up the “Mail” settings.
Step 7 – In the Mail settings page, open “Mail Accounts“.
Step 8 – On the following page, you will see the specific account types. Tap the “Gmail” account.
Step 9 – Now, make sure the “Calendar” option is turned on there.
While the Calendar option is turned on, all the Birthdays and Events will get synced on your iPhone.
Head on to the Calendar app to see whether this has worked out or not.
Fix 5 – Use the iCloud Calendar on your iPhone
You must turn on the iCloud synchronization settings for the Calendar app.
Step 1 – In the iPhone Settings, touch to open the Apple ID banner.
Step 2 – There, open up the “iCloud” settings.
Step 3 – In the main iCloud settings page, go to the ‘Saved to iCloud’ section.
Step 4 – Next, tap the “See All>” button to open the iCloud settings.
Step 5 – There, open up the “iCloud Calendar” option.
Step 6 – Turn on the “Use on this iPhone” option.
Step 7 – Be sure to check the ‘Account settings’ option, as well.
Once you have enabled this, all your items on the Calendar app will be synced automatically.
See whether you can view the Birthdays or the events on the Calendar or not.
Fix 6 – Use Mobile Data/Wi-Fi
If you are using mobile data, use Wi-Fi. Or, if you are already on a Wi-Fi network, try using the mobile data. Then, you can check out the birthdays in the Calendar app. Go check out the Calendar app one more time. This time, you will find all of your events and birthdays correctly.
Do check out if this works or not.
