You can awake the iPhone just by tapping the screen of the device. Some users seem to have problem with this ‘Tap to Wake’ feature. If your iPhone is also not waking up upon tapping the device, it needs some solutions to fix it. So, don’t waste your time to fix the problem at your end.
Fix 1 – Toggle the Tap to Wake function
The Tap to Wake feature is present in the iPhone Settings page. Disable the Tap to Wake function from there.
Step 1 – Open the Settings page on your iPhone.
Step 2 – Later, open the “Accessibility” settings on your device.
Step 3 – In the Accessibility panel, open the “Touch” settings.
Step 4 – After opening the Touch panel, find the “Tap to Wake” function. It must be enabled on your device for the feature to work properly.
After enabling the Tap to Wake function, the device screen should light up when you double tap the iPhone screen.
Fix 2 – Force restart the iPhone
Force restarting the device is another way to tackle this problem. If the problem has originated from a bug or a glitch, a force restart should fix it.
Step 1 – The process to force-reboot the device is very simple. At first, you must put an end to all the current running application on the device.
Step 2 – You should tap the Volume Plus button once.
Step 3 – Later, click the Volume Minus button again.
Step 4 – After that, press and hold the Power button to force-restart the iPhone.
When you continue to long-press the Power button, your iPhone does get force-rebooted in a few seconds. You have to unlock the device after it reboots. But, after that, you can expect the Tap to wake function to work normally.
Fix 3 – Disable the Low Power mode
Several features like the Tap to Wake may get disabled when the iPhone is in Low Power mode.
Step 1 – If the iPhone is in Low Power mode, open the Settings.
Step 2 – Then, go ahead and open up the “Battery” settings.
Step 3 – Turn off the “Low Power mode” from the Battery page, there.
When the iPhone returns to normal setting, you can use the Tap to Wake function once again.
Fix 4 – Problem with the sensor
Every component on your iPhone has a life cycle. The ‘Tap to Wake’ feature is dependent on sensors. With the continuous usage of the device, the effectiveness of these sensors may get affected. So, the ‘Tap to Wake’ feature may not function correctly on your device if you are using an old iPhone.
