Setting interrogation failed on iPhone – Fix

Getting this “Setting interrogation failed on iPhone” message on your iPhone out of nowhere? This message is related to the call and network settings on the device. Though, the problem generally affects the Call Forwarding feature, this may also affect call or message settings as well. Using a wrong carrier code from the dialer leads to this issue.

Fix – Find the correct code using google

This message appears when you try to use the “*#21#” code from your iPhone dialer. Usually, calling this code in the AT&T service (GSM network) notifies you the call forwarding status on your iPhone. But, if you are using other services like Verizon, it won’t work and throw up this message.

Step 1 – Just open a browser page or use the widget to open Google.

Step 2 – Next, search for the call forwarding code with the name of the carrier. Like, if you are on a Verizon network and looking for their call forwarding code, you can just search something like this –

Verizon call forwarding code

Step 3 – In the top of the search result, you will find the correct code for that specific carrier.

You can also look into the website of that specific carrier and check out the information from there.

Step 4 –  You have to input the code and the number where you want to forward the call to.

[ Example – For the Verizon users, you need to input “*72 followed by the number that you want the call forward to“] in the dialer and dial it to set the number].

These steps do differ carrier to carrier. So, execute the steps carefully.
