How To Fix Microsoft Windows or Office Activation error 0xC004C060

Some Windows users have reported seeing an Activation error when they try to activate Windows 10 or when they try to activate Office. The complete error message is as shown below:

Fix 1: Run the Activation Troubleshooter

Step 1: Using the keys Windows+R, open the Run Dialog window.

Step 2: Type ms-settings:activation and press on the Ok button.

Step 6: Try activating the Windows or Office suite again, check if this fixes the error. If not try the next fix.

Fix 2: Using slmgr command

If you had Windows 10/11 Home version in your system when you purchased the system and you are seeing the error since you upgraded it to Windows 10/11 Pro, then try activating using the slmgr command. Below are the steps :

Step 1: Open the Run Dialog using the keys Windows+R.

Step 2: Type cmd and hold the keys Ctrl+Shift+Enter.

Step 3: In the User Access Confirmation dialog that opens, click on Yes.

Step 4: In the Command prompt window that opens, enter the below commands one after the other. Make sure to hit Enter after every command.

slmgr /ipk xxxxx-xxxxx-xxxxx-xxxxx-xxxxx
slmgr /ato

 

NOTE: Replace the x’s with your unique 25 character product activation code.

Fix 3: Reach out to the Microsoft Customer Care

If you have bought the Windows Product Activation key from an official channel and are still seeing the issue, try reaching out to Microsoft Customer Care. They will be able to fix this issue remotely.
