You must enable the Dictation mode from the Settings page.

Step 2 – Look for the “General” tab and go there.
Step 3 – In the General settings, go to the “Keyboard” settings.

Once you have enabled the dictation on your keyboard, you can use the dictation function.
Try using the dictation to write down the thing that you are trying to compose before.
See whether you can dictate the entire thing or not.
Fix 2 – Make sure iPhone is not connected
Although you can dictate your message even while using the AirPods or other Bluetooth audio devices, the problem with the dictation may arise from this.
Step 1 – So, slide down to access the items on the Control Center.
Step 2 – While you are in the Control Center, take a look at the Bluetooth icon.
Step 3 – Disable the Bluetooth mode.
Now, use your iPhone microphone to dictate the message.

Fix 3 – Enable the Dictation from keyboard
If you are using a new keyboard, try using the Dictation for the first time, and that should allow you to dictate the message.
Step 1 – Open the WhatsApp or Telegram or any such application where you can use the microphone to dictate a message.
Step 2 – Next, open the message box and you will see the keyboard.
Step 3 – Tap the microphone “🎙” icon to start the diction process.
Step 4 – If this takes you to the page where you must provide the microphone permissions or enabling the dictation feature, do that.
You can easily dictate your messages from the app once this is done.
Do check whether this works and you can compose the message.
Fix 4 – Uninstall the app and reinstall the same
Having this problem with a specific app on your device? Then, uninstall such app and reinstalling the same should help.

Step 5 – After this, try to dictate the message of your choice. When you try to do so, it will ask for certain permissions (like microphone). Provide the permission following the settings.
See whether you can read dictate the message.
If you still can’t do that, follow the final solution.
Fix 5 – Reset every setting on your iPhone
Finally, if the dictation feature doesn’t work, you should reset all the iPhone settings.
Step 1 – Head straight to the Settings page.
Step 2 – There, open up the “General” part of the Settings.
Step 3 – While you are on the General page, touch the “Transfer or reset iPhone” item.
Step 4 – Later, touch the “Reset” option.
Step 5 – Next, choose the “Reset All Settings” option.
Just remember this that you must input your security key to carry out this settings reset process.
Step 6 – Finally, tap the “Reset Settings” option and let the device restart.
The iPhone shall wipe out all the settings while the device restarts.
When you are back, go back to the same app. Try to dictate the message on your own.
Hope these fixes have helped you!
