iPhone is not ringing on incoming calls: Here is the fix

Is your iPhone not ringing on any of the incoming calls? Apart from certain modes like the Silent Mode, your iPhone should ring in all the conditions. There are several things that you can try out to fix this condition on your iPhone.

 

Fix 1 – Check the Alert Slider

The Alert Slider may be turned on your iPhone. While the Alert Slider is engaged, you won’t even realize there is a call. Your phone will show up the incoming call but won’t ring anyway.

Step 1 – Simply toggle the Alert Slider both the ways. This way, you will be able to see both the ‘Silent Mode’ and normal mode.

Step 2 – Set the Alert Slider in the normal mode.

Step 3 – Later, press-hold the Volume up button to set the Ringer Volume to maximum mode.

Wait for an incoming call. This time, your iPhone will give out the ringtone normally.

 

Fix 2 – Turn off the Focus Mode

The Focus Mode can be another reason why you are your iPhone is not ringing up upon receiving an incoming call.

Step 1 – Swipe up from the above to open the Control Center.

Step 2 – If a Focus Mode is turned on, you should see it right in the Control Center.

Step 3 – If that is the case, just tap on the Focus Mode button to turn it off.

Once you have turned off the Focus Mode, your iPhone should work normally and respond to the incoming calls.

Fix 3 – Turn off the Silence Unknown callers feature

Is your iPhone silencing the calls from the numbers that are not included in your contact list? You must turn off this feature.

Step 1 – The feature in the question is to ‘Silence Unknown Callers‘. You have to open the Settings page, first.

Step 2 – Open the “Apps” section.

Step 3 – There, in the Apps page, find and open the “Phone” option.

Step 4 – In the Phone app page, open the “Silence Unknown Callers” option.

Step 5 – You must turn off the Silence Unknown Callers option there.

After turning off this feature, the calls won’t get auto-silenced even if the caller is not present in the log book. You should be able to hear all the callers.

 

Fix 4 – Choose a different ringtone

The phone won’t ring up properly if there is no ringtone associated to it. In that case, you should choose a different ringtone on your iPhone.

Step 1 – Go to your Settings page.

Step 2 There, you can open the “Sounds & Haptics” panel.

Step 3 – In the Sound & Haptics page, open up the “Ringtone” settings.

Step 4 – You must choose a different ringtone other than the one you currently have on your iPhone.

Once you have changed the ringtone of your iPhone, everything should become normal. Call up your iPhone from another device and see whether it is working or not.

 

Fix 5 – Unblock the blocked contacts

If someone dials you up from a blocked contact, you won’t get any alert on your iPhone.

Step 1 – So, you must open the Settings tab.

Step 2 – There, open up the “Apps” section.

Step 3 – When the Apps tab opens up, open up the “Phone” settings one more time.

Step 4 – In the Phone settings page, slide down to find the “Blocked Contacts” setting and open it up.

Step 5 – You will see the list of contacts in the ‘Blocked Contacts‘ page.

Step 6 – There, tap the “Edit” option.

Step 7 – Or, just drag the number sideways and tap “Unblock” to unblock the number.

Once you have unblocked the number of contacts from there, you will get to hear the calls whenever you receive calls from there.

 

Fix 6 – Don’t use any Bluetooth headphones

When you use any Bluetooth headphone or any other form of Bluetooth audio devices, the ringtone from your iPhone speaker will get silenced automatically.



Step 1 – You can disconnect the Bluetooth device manually. So, just swipe down and hold down the Bluetooth from the Control Center.

Step 2 – See whether the iPhone is connected to any headphone or any other audio devices.

Step 3 – If a Bluetooth device is connected to your iPhone, tap on the name of it to disconnect that.

Step 4 – Or, you can just remove all and any audio devices from the proximity of your computer.

Once you have disabled the Bluetooth, you can hear the ringtone for the incoming calls.

 

Fix 7 – Reset the iPhone

If you have come this far, that means nothing has worked for you. Now, you should reset the settings of your iPhone.

Step 1 – Start the process by going to the Settings.

Step 2 – Later, go to the “General” mode.
