Having some problem with the Caller ID on your iPhone? The caller ID on the iPhone may carry additional information of the caller, such as, picture of the caller, additional credentials and much more. The visibility of the caller ID is the only identification users can get without answering the call. So, the importance of the caller ID can not be underrated. Don’t worry. You may use these steps to troubleshoot the issue yourself.
Fix 1 – Enable the Caller ID
You can enable the Caller ID directly from the iPhone settings page.
Step 1 – On the iPhone Settings page, go to the “Apps” tab.
Step 2 – Later, open up the “Phone” app settings.
Step 3 – Now, you should open up the “Show my Caller ID” settings.
Step 4 – If you are using dual SIM, tap the one where you are having this issue.
Step 5 – Turn on the “Show my Caller ID” settings, if that is turned off.
Check the call dialer status once again. See if this works.
Fix 2 – Remove the SIM card and restart
You have to remove the SIM card from the device and restart your iPhone.\
Step 1 – Turn off the Wi-Fi before doing this.
Step 2 – Take the SIM ejector tool and use that to eject the SIM card tray.
Step 3 – No need to take out the SIM card manually.
Step 4 – Then, re-insert the SIM card tray back to it’s place and restart your iPhone.
Once you have rebooted, you will have the caller ID page up and runnning conditon.
Fix 3 – Silence unknown callers
One of the downside of having the caller ID is getting too many spam calls. You can put a stop to them using the other way.
Step 1 – On the iPhone’s Settings page, open up the “Apps” section.
Step 2 – Load up the “Phone” app.
Step 3 – Open up the “Silence Unknown Callers” option.
Step 4 – Turn that on in the settings page.
Once you are done, all the unknown calls will get silenced automatically.
Fix 4 – Try the force-restart procedure
The force-restart procedure is a remedial method that can fix your problem, if this is a system bug or glitch.
Step 1 – Start by pressing the Volume Up button and releasing that.
Step 2 – Next, press the Volume Down button and release it again.
Step 3 – Later, press&hold the Power button on the side button until the Apple Logo shows up on the iPhone screen.
This is the standard procedure to force-rebooting the device. When the device finally boots up, see whether you can view the caller ID or not.
Fix 5 – Turn off the Wi-Fi
Wi-Fi Calling does have its advantages, but sometimes it may come in the way of connection to the service provider, which reciprocates the caller ID. So, turn off the Wi-Fi and give it another try.
This is also a carrier controlled settings. So, if you are still having this issue, you might consider reaching out to your carrier service provider. This should improve your condition.
