Step 1 – On a browser of your choice, open up the Google Account console.

Step 2 Once you have opened it up, go to the “Data and privacy” from the left tab.



Step 3 – Now, start to scroll down through the right-hand tab, until you have found the ‘Data from apps and services that you use’ section.

Step 5 – Locate the “Gmail” service among all the other Google services that you can find there.

Step 6 – Tap the “Download” button there.

This will take you to the Google Takeout page from where you  can specify several required parameters, like date range, file type, frequency, etc.

Step 7 – At the first step, you have to include which Google service data that you want. Like, in this case, make sure the “Mail” is checked.

Step 8 – Tap “Next Step” to proceed.

Step 9 – You can change the way of getting the backup file using the drop-down option of ‘Transfer To’ option. You can add it to directly to cloud storage, like Google Drive, OneDrive or, you may opt to get a download link on your mail.

Step 10 – We have selected the “Send download link via email” option.

Step 11 – Leave the rest of the settings, like ‘Frequency’, ‘File type & size’ parameters, alone. You can toggle the file size, if you want.

Step 12 – Tap “Create export” to start the main exporting process.

Google may take some time to assemble all the Gmail data, and create the link for you to download the data.

Your task is over in this case. Google Takeover will send an email containing the direct link to download your Gmail data. But, remember that if you have a humongous amount of email messages, it may take a while for that email to arrive in your inbox.

Step 13 – Go ahead and open up your Gmail inbox on the browser.

Step 14 – Open the Google Takeover mail in there.

Step 15 – Inside this message, you will found the links to download your Gmail data. Depending upon the number of conversations, you may have 2 or more download links.

Step 16 – Use these links to create the backup.
