Having some problem dictating commands to Siri on your Apple Watch? The convenience of the dictation feature cannot be ignored on the watch, where the usage of keyboard is quite limited. The restricted space on the watch face demands special features, like the dictation, to make the device more useful and user-friendly. These solutions will help you troubleshoot the problem.
Fix 1 – Enable the ‘Hey Siri’ module
You must turn on the Hey Siri features on your Apple Watch.
Step 1 – Open up the list of apps on your Watch.
Step 2 – Tap to load up the “⚙” button there.
Step 3 – Now, find the “Siri” settings.
Step 4 – Turn on these features in the Siri settings –
Listen for 'Hey Siri' Raise to Speak
After enabling Siri, you can dictate easily using the Apple Watch.
Fix 2 – Remove the restriction on Siri & Dictation
You have to revoke the restriction on the Siri & Dictation feature.
Step 1 – Open up the iPhone Settings.
Step 2 – Next, load up the “Screen Time” settings.
Step 3 – Later, go to the “Content & Privacy Restrictions” module.
Step 4 – While you are in there, open up the “Allowed Apps” tab.
Step 5 – Turn on the “Siri & Dictation” tool.
While this is enabled, you can use the dictation feature freely from your Apple Watch.
Fix 3 – Use the same language on both the devices
You must use the same language on your iPhone and on the watch to utilize the complete capabilities of the dictation feature. Like, if the language on the Apple Watch is set to ‘French’ or ‘Mandarin’ and the language on the iPhone is set to ‘English (US)’, dictation won’t work on the device.
Step 1 – In the iPhone Settings, tap to reach the “General” tab.
Step 2 – Next, load up the “Language & Region” module.
Step 3 – Set the same language on both the devices.
Check if this works out for you!
Fix 4 – Enable Dictation on the keyboard
You should make sure the Dictation is enabled as the part of the keyboard feature.
Step 1 – Open up the iPhone’s Settings.
Step 2 – Then, go to the “General” tab.
Step 3 – Next, open up the “Keyboards” feature.
Step 4 – Turn on the “Enable Dictation” feature from there.
After enabling the dictation, you can use it.
Fix 5 – Refresh the Siri features
You can just disable the Siri features and re-enable them again.
Step 1 – Tap the crown once.
Step 2 – On the iPhone Settings page, load up the Settings page.
Step 3 – Next, tap to go to the “Siri” features.
Step 3 – Disable all the Siri features from there.
Step 4 – Wait for a bit. Then, re-enable the Siri features there.
Step 5 – Finally, tap “Enable Siri” to refresh all the Siri features at once.
Once you have done this, you may use the dictation feature. See if this works out or not.
