Is your Apple Watch still in the locked mode, even when you are wearing the device on your wrist? Your Apple Watch should not be in the locked state while you are wearing the device. This means, the PIN lock on the watch gets automatically disabled when you are using the device. This tip will be useful in fixing the problem on your Apple Watch.
Why the Apple Watch is locked even am I wearing it on my wrist?
The lack of the Face ID tech in the Apple Watch is replaced by the PIN system of the lock. Apple Watch automatically locks itself when you are not using the device. But using the four digit PIN to unlock the wearable again and again can be a bothersome task. So, Apple Watch disables the PIN system lock automatically when you are wearing the device on your wrist.
But, due to some anomaly, your Apple Watch may get stuck in the locked mode, even when you are wearing the device. There are some toggles that control the activation of this feature. So, you must turn on these features so that the Apple Watch gets unlocked in proper scenarios.
Fix 1 – Turn on the Wrist Detection
Pulse Detection or Wrist Detection feature needs to be turned on your watch for the feature to work properly.
Step 1 – Load up the Watch app on the iPhone. You must be in the “My activity” panel.
Step 2 – Later, go to the “Passcode” settings and open it up.
Step 3 – Turn on the “Wrist Detection” settings in there.
Once you have turned on the wrist detection, your Apple Watch will not be in the locked state while you are wearing the device.
Fix 2 – Wear the watch properly
If you are wearing the Apple Watch improperly, it may not be able to detect your pulse correctly. In that case, the Watch will still get stuck in the locked state, even when you are wearing the device.
So, wear the Apple Watch properly on your wrist. Make sure the watch is worn properly or does offer a firm grip on the wrist. Wear the watch a bit tightly so that the watch tracks your pulse and unlocks the device automatically.
Do this and the Apple Watch will not get locked when you are wearing or using the watch.
