Watching YouTube in full screen mode gets your undivided attention. But, what if you can’t invoke the full screen mode in the YouTube mode. Whenever you open an YouTube video, there will always be the Full Screen button in the corner of the video. Solving this issue is not that hard. Just follow these steps.
Fix 1 – Unlock Auto Rotate function
Sometimes the Auto-Rotate function can cause the full screen button to malfunction. So, disable the auto-rotate feature from the Control Center and you can use the YouTube in full screen.
Step 1 – While you are in the YouTube app, open up the Control Center.
Step 2 – Next, check if the “Auto Rotate” function is enabled. If that is the case, disable it.
Step 3 – Once you have disabled the Auto Rotate feature and came back to YouTube, rotate the iPhone sideways or place it horizontally.
Step 4 – You will have found the YouTube player going full screen mode. But, if that is not the case and the video is still playing in standard mode, use the full screen mode.
See whether you can view the videos in the full screen mode or not.

Fix 2 – Toggle the Display Zoom level
The alteration of the display zoom level can be the reason why you can’t put the videos in full screen mode.
Step 1 – To do this, load up the iPhone’s Settings using the ⚙ icon.
Step 2 – Find the “Display & Brightness” settings and open it up.
Step 3 – Scroll down a bit and open the “Display Zoom” feature.
Step 4 – Check whether you are using ‘Larger Text’ mode. If you are, choose the “Default” mode.
Step 5 – Then, tap “Done” to save the changes.
Step 6 – There will be a warning message –

Step 7 – Tap the “Use Standard” option.
After restoring the display zoom level to the default level on your iPhone, you can put the YouTube videos in the full screen mode. But, before you do that, you must restart the iPhone once.
Later, open the YouTube app and try to put the videos in full screen mode.
Fix 3 – Force-close the YouTube and check
Try force-closing the YouTube app and check again.
Step 1 – While the YouTube app is open on your iPhone, swipe upward from the left-hand bottom.
Step 2 – There, close the YouTube app by swiping up the app.
Step 3 – Following the same way, close all the apps that are running currently on the device.
Once you have closed all the apps, including YouTube, relaunch the YouTube client on your iPhone.
Open the first video on your own feed. Try putting that video in full screen mode.
Fix 4 – Enable Zoom to fill screen
Still not luck with the Full Screen mode on YouTube? You can configure all of your videos to be zoomed to fill your iPhone’s screen.
Step 1 – Open the YouTube app, if you haven’t opened yet.
Step 2 – Don’t play any of the videos. Instead, tap your profile icon on the bottom to load the library.
Step 3 – Later, tap your profile icon on the top.
Step 4 – Tap the “Settings” to open YouTube settings.
Step 5 – Later, open the “General” settings.
Step 6 – In the General settings, scroll down and turn on the “Zoom to fill screen” mode.
After changing the settings, all the videos will zoom in (irrespective of the intended aspect ratio of the video) to fill your iPhone’s screen.
Step 6 – To test whether this has worked or not, open a random YouTube video in the app.
Step 7 – Use the same full screen button in the video player to make it go full screen.
