The Last of US Part 2 incompatible GPU – How to fix

Getting ‘Incompatible GPU‘ error message while trying to play the Last of Us Part 2 on your computer? The remastered version of the TLOU Part 2 is well optimized for even older PCs with low-end GPUs. You must check the minimum system requirement of the game, first, and check whether your system actually matches those conditions. If you have a proper GPU, but you are still having the same incompatible GPU problem, this guide will help you out.

Fix 1 – Inspect the DirectX version of the GPU

TLOU Part 2 needs the D3DX12 or DirectX version 12 to run the game. So, your GPU must support this feature.

Step 1 – At first, press the Win+R keys together.

Step 2 – Next, type this there and hit Enter.

If you can detect that, your GPU is compatible to run The Last of US Part 2 Remastered game on your system.

Fix 2 – Check the GPU connection

Users with dual graphics card (one internal and the discrete one) may face this problem. If you have connected the graphics card via the card port not to the motherboard, this issue may arise.

Step 1 – You can directly check the rear section of the cabinet.

Step 2 – Plug in the HDMI cable to the graphics card. If you attach the HDMI cable to the motherboard, it will recognize the internal graphics card.

Step 3 – Once you have rectified the connection, you can launch the Last of us Part 2 and enjoy the game.

If you are still getting the incompatible GPU sign, these other fixes will help you.

Fix 3 – Force the application to use GPU

You can force the game to use the discrete graphics card driver.

Step 2 – Next, go to the “System” settings.

Step 3 – Load up the “Display” settings, later.

Step 4 – Open up the “Graphics options” there to load up the graphics settings.
