Facebook introduced a good place/platform to buy or sell different types of products online and it is called Facebook Marketplace. You can find it on the Facebook app itself.
Recently, we have found several reports that say many iPhone users are not able to use Facebook Marketplace on their Facebook app. When iPhone users try accessing the marketplace, it showed the message shown below.

iPhone users are frustrated that they are unable to use the Facebook Marketplace and the reasons behind this are listed below.
- Facebook Marketplace is restricted for your region
- Outdated Facebook app
- Technical issue with the Facebook app
- Using the VPN connection on your iPhone
- Internal Software bugs within iPhone
If you are having this issue on your iPhone, don’t worry. In this article, we have compiled a set of troubleshooting ideas that will help in fixing the issue.
Initial Fixes
- Restart the iPhone – Restarting the iPhone has helped many users in fixing this issue since it rectifies many minor internal faults. Try to restart your iPhone and see if this helped you too.
- Update the iPhone – When any user does not install the recently released iOS update on their iPhones, it is bound to occur such issues on any iPhone. Therefore, we recommend updating the iPhone once and checking if Facebook Marketplace is working now.
- Check whether Facebook Marketplace is allowed in your region – Facebook has made sure that the Marketplace platform is available only for certain countries/regions in the world. So check whether your region is under the list of allowed countries. Also, Facebook users who are under 18 years are restricted from using this platform.
Fix 1 – Sign Out of the Facebook app and Sign in again
Step 1: To do this, you need to go to the Facebook app on your iPhone.
Step 2: Then click on the Menu option at the bottom as shown in the below screenshot.
Step 3: After doing that, you need to scroll down the menu list and select the Log out option by clicking on it.

Step 4: This will pop up a small context menu on the screen.
Step 5: Just tap on Save and Log Out so that you can log in easily without the need of entering the password.

Step 6: This soon logs you out of your Facebook app and gets to the login screen.
Step 7: Now you can select your Facebook profile already saved by clicking on it.

Step 8: If you want to try a different account for logging, you need to click on Log in to Another Account.
Fix 2 – Update the Facebook App
Step 1: Go to the App Store on your iPhone.
Step 2: Tap on the Search tab at the bottom panel as shown below.
Step 3: Afterward, type Facebook in the search bar at the top.
Step 4: Select the Facebook option from the search dropdown results as shown below.

Step 5: This opens the Facebook app page on the App Store.
Step 6: If it shows an Update option, please click on it to start updating the Facebook app on your iPhone.

Fix 3 – Re-install the Facebook App
Step 1: Go to your home screen and look for the Facebook app icon.
Step 2: Long tap on the Facebook icon and select the Remove App option from the context menu list.

Step 3: Now click on the Delete App option from the popped up menu on the screen.

Step 4: Finally, click Delete to start uninstalling the Facebook app from your iPhone.

Step 5: This starts uninstalling and once the Facebook app is uninstalled, go to your App Store.
Step 6: Go to the Search bar at the bottom and type Facebook in the top search bar and select from the dropdown results.

Step 7: After you get to the Facebook page, find the Cloud-Shaped symbol and tap on it.
Step 8: This will begin reinstalling the Facebook app on your iPhone.
Step 9: After it is done installing, check whether you are getting the problem or not.
Fix 4 – Disconnect any VPN connection
Step 1: Launch the Settings app first of all.
Step 2: Then you need to click on General from the list as shown below.

Step 3: Scroll down and select the VPN & Device Management option by tapping on it.

Step 4: Now click VPN at the top of the page as shown.

Step 5: Here you need to disable any VPN connection already connected to your iPhone.
Fix 5 – Offload the Facebook App
Step 1: Go to the Settings app and click on the General option.
Step 2: Next, tap on the iPhone Storage option.

Step 3: Now wait for some time till it finishes loading the page.
Step 4: After that, select the Facebook app from the list of apps as shown below.

Step 5: Click Offload App.

Step 6: To continue, you need to tap on Offload App on the pop-up menu on the screen as shown below.

Step 7: When the Offloading is done, you have to click Reinstall App as shown.

Fix 6 – Try using Facebook web
Step 1: Go to any web browser installed on your iPhone such as chrome, safari, etc.
Step 2: Type the below link in the address bar and tap on go.

Step 3: Once you reach the Facebook homepage on your browser, provide the Mobile number or email address and Password.
Step 4: Click Log In as shown in the below screenshot to sign in to your Facebook account.

Step 5: After you have signed in successfully, check whether you are able to access Marketplace from the web browser.
Step 6: If yes, you can try re-installing and restarting your iPhone a few times and can be sure that there is no problem from your Facebook account side.
Fix 7 – Report the issue to the Facebook team
Step 1: First of all, open the Facebook app on your iPhone.
Step 2: Next, click on the Menu option at the bottom panel as shown below.
Step 3: Then choose the Help & Support option by tapping on it from the menu list as shown.
Step 4: This expands the Help & Support option.
Step 5: Now click on the Report a problem option as shown in the image below.

Step 6: Then click on Continue to report at the bottom of the popped-up screen.

Step 7: On the next page, you have to select the Include in Report option.

Step 8: After this, you should select Marketplace from the Feature list as shown below.

Step 9: Finally, you have to describe the issue by typing Marketplace not working in the description box.
Step 10: Attach a screenshot if you want by clicking on Take Screenshot.
Step 11: Afterwards, just tap Send at the top right side as shown in the below screenshot.
