Is your computer turning ON but there is no display appearing even after you hear the Windows 10 Startup sound? If this is the case, then there must be some issue with the display unit itself. Do not worry if you can’t see anything ON your display. Try these preliminary tests at first and check some specifics. If that checks out and you are still facing the issue, go for the solutions.
Preliminary Checks –
1. If you have another monitor, connect with your setup and check if it is working.
Otherwise, if you have another working setup, connect the conflicting monitor with it and check if it is working with it.
You will have an understanding of what is wrong with your setup.
2. Check the display connector cable on your computer. Sometimes it may be loose.
2. Check the power source your monitor is connected to. Try switching it OFF and ON.

Fix 1 – Check your Monitor
All the monitors have a physical switch that can be used to turn it On or Off. Check the power light of your monitor to verify if it’s actually ON or OFF. Do these steps –
1. Shut down your computer by pressing the power button.
2. Unplug the Power adapter of your monitor.
3. Switch off the power outlet.
4. Visually check if there is any defect in the power cable. Then, check the port (VGA or HDMI port) the display is connected to.
5. Wait for 1 minute.
6. If the power cable is in good condition, plug it into the monitor and the motherboard port.
7. Then, switch ON your computer.
Fix 2 – Disconnect unnecessary peripherals
Follow these steps to detach unnecessary peripherals.
1. Press and hold the Power button to completely switch off your computer.
1. Disconnect any unnecessary USB devices, external HDDs, Wireless/ Bluetooth adapter from the system.
2. Reboot your system.
If your computer starts up normally and the monitor is working fine, then one of these unnecessary peripherals is causing this issue. How to detect which external device is causing this issue? Follow these steps –
1. Switch Off your computer.
2. Re-attach all the peripherals to your computer.
3. Then, disconnect any one of those external devices.
4. Restart your computer.
Check if the monitor is working this time or not. Now, there are two possible conditions –
Condition 1 – If the monitor doesn’t show up anything then this is the external media that is causing this issue. Stop using it or update its driver.
Condition 2 – If the monitor works just fine, then switch off the computer and detach another USB device from your machine. Start it up and check the status of the monitor.
This way, continue this process until you have identified the culprit behind this issue.
Fix 4 – Re-install your RAM
The display on your machine won’t work if there is a connection fault in the RAM slot.
1. At first, switch off your computer completely.
2. Detach the power cable from the power source.
3. Now, open the cabinet.
4. Remove the cover from your machine. You can see the rectangular green RAM sticks attached to the motherboard pins.
There should be either 2 slots or 4 slots.
5. At first, toggle the clips at the side of the slots.
6. Then, detach all the RAM sticks carefully from all the slots.
7. Next, clean the dust of the RAM sticks and RAM slots on your motherboard.
8. Now, attach one working RAM stick to one of the motherboard slots and connect all the power cables, then restart the machine to check the motherboard slot is working or not.
This way, check the functionality of all the slots.
If any of the RAM sticks are not working, you have to replace them. If the motherboard slots are not working, simply don’t use the particular slot.
9. If all the RAM sticks and slots are working, attach the RAM sticks to different slots and then toggle the clips to attach them properly.
If there isn’t any fault in the memory unit, go for the next fix.
Fix 5 – Reset your BIOS settings to default
You have to reset your BIOS settings to the default in the offline state.
1. First of all press and hold the power switch to turn off your system.
2. Then, disconnect the AC power adapter from your cabinet.
3. Now, open the casing to see the motherboard.
4. After that, remove the CMOS battery from your motherboard using a screwdriver.
5. Wait for a few minutes and then put the CMOS battery back to the motherboard.
6. After that, connect the AC power cord to the power supply and turn On your computer.
