Cannot Delete Voice Memos Data on iPhone [Solved]

Fix 1 – Disable iCloud for Voice Memos on your iPhone

Some users enable iCloud for voice memos which stores all the voice memos recorded on the iPhone in iCloud. When the user deletes any of the voice memos from the app, it downloads the voice memos from iCloud through syncing. Therefore, disabling it would fix this issue.

Follow the steps on how to disable it.

Step 1: First of all, you need to open the Apple ID page on your iPhone.

Step 2: To do so, open the Settings page on your iPhone first.

Step 3: Then tap on the profile name on top of the Settings page as shown in the below screenshot.

Step 6: Scroll down the Apps using the iCloud list and find Voice Memos from the list.

Step 7: Disable it by tapping on its toggle switch as shown below.

Fix 2 – Clear the Recently Deleted items from the Voice Memos app

When any user deletes any voice memos from their iPhone, it gets stored on the iPhone for the next 30 days so that they can recover them when they need them back. This consumes the iPhone storage even after you have deleted them since it remains in the Recently Deleted folder on the Voice Memos app.

Let us see how to clear the recently deleted items from the Voice Memos app using the steps below.

Step 1: Unlock your iPhone first and find the Voice Memos app from the home screen.

Step 2: Now tap on the Voice Memos app icon to open the app.

Step 3: Once the Voice Memos app opens, locate and tap on the Recently Deleted option as shown in the below image.

Step 5: After that, now you have to tap on the Delete All option at the bottom right side.

Step 7: Simply tap on the Delete Forever option from the confirm pop up window.

This deletes all the voice memos deleted from the last 30 days.

Fix 3 – Modify the Voice Memos app settings

There is a setting on the iPhone where you can select how frequently the recently deleted items must be cleared from the iPhone for Voice Memos. You can change it as per your convenience so that the iPhone storage gets cleared easily.

Here are the steps given below on how to change the voice memos app settings.

Step 1: After unlocking your iPhone, go to the Settings page by clicking on the settings icon.

Step 2: Now you have to scroll down the settings page and click on the Voice Memos option as shown in the below screenshot.

Step 3: On the Voice Memos page, tap on the Clear Deleted option under the Voice Memos Settings section at the bottom as shown.

Step 4: You might see the option After 30 Days must have been selected.

Step 5: Please change it to After 1 Day or Immediately from the list so that deleted items will get cleared within 1 day.

Fix 4 – Reset All Settings

Some iPhone users change the settings on the iPhones after they have updated their iPhones and this leads to many issues as discussed in the article above. So we recommend our users try performing a reset all settings on their iPhones can resolve this problem as explained in the below steps.

Restart your iPhone
