Why the Silent Mode switch is stuck?
The Alert Slider or Silent Mode switch is present on several older iPhone models. The reason why the Silent Mode is stuck can be one of the many reasons. If you are using your iPhone for too long and haven’t cleared the Silent Mode switch mode slot in a while, dust or other particle may get into there and jam it. You also have to consider that this is a physical switch with electronic components. So, the Silent Mode switch can become laggy or stuck with regular usage.
Whatever is the reason, if you found yourself in this situation, this workaround will be useful. In this solution, we have used an accessibility feature to replace the functionality of the Silent switch on your device. You can use this to put the phone out of silent mode.
Fix 1 – Use the Assistive Touch button
The Assistive Touch button is a special accessibility feature that lets the iOS create a hovering, visible bubble with full of functions.
Step 1 – Load up the Settings page.
Step 2 – Next, open the “Accessibility” tab.
Step 3 – Look for the “Touch” settings. Open it up as soon as you see it.
Step 4 – After opening the Touch settings, tap the “AssistiveTouch” option.
Step 5 – Turn on the “AssistiveTouch” panel.
Step 6 – Tap the “Customize Top Level Menu” feature there.
You can now tweak these buttons of the Assistive Touch panel. We have to change one button to Mute/Unmute.
Step 7 – Tap any of the buttons to do this.
On the following step, you will find the list of all the possible commands or macros that you can assign to the button.
Step 8 – Choose the “Mute” mode from there and tap “Done” to complete the change.
Step 9 – Now, tap the Assistive Touch button, hovering on your screen.
Step 10 – Later, tap the “Unmute/Mute” mode from the panel.
That’s it! You can toggle the Mute or Unmute mode at your will, irrespective of the status of the Silent Mode button on the device.
Hope these steps have helped you fix it.
