Is the Whatsapp for PC application not working on your Windows 11 computer? Is it appearing to be non-responsive and stuttering while loading up your chat messages? Don’t worry. There are several possible solutions that you may apply to sort this out quickly. If those solutions don’t procure any fruit, you can resort to very suitable alternative methods to get back to your messages more quickly.
Fix 1 – Check the internet connection
Quickly check whether your computer has a good, stable internet connection. Whatsapp loads up the server data when it loads up. So, it requires a stable internet connection.
If the internet connection is stable and you are still facing the problem, follow the next solution in the line.
Fix 2 – Check whether the mobile is online
Though the latest update of Whatsapp ensures an original-independent experience without the original Whatsapp (smartphone or tablet), you should just keep your mobile online. If the mobile is offline, Whatsapp have to directly download the chats, and message from the server. But, when the original device is online, the process becomes much faster.
1. Close Whatsapp for the PC app.
2. Then, connect your mobile to the internet.
3. Next, start-up the Whatsapp for PC again.
This time, it will load up all the chats and messages quickly.
Fix 3 – Restart Whatsapp using the Task Manager
If the first two methods don’t fix the problem, restart the Whatsapp for PC app.
1. At first, right-click the Windows icon to open the context menu.
2. There, tap “Task Manager” to access it.
3. In the Task Manager screen, right-tap “Whatsapp” and then, click “End task” to kill it.
Once the Whatsapp process ends, close the Task Manager.
Now, relaunch Whatsapp on your computer and test.
Fix 4 – Allow WhatsApp to run in the back
Whatsapp runs in the background on your computer, syncing all the chats, and messages while you are working in the foreground.
1. Open the Settings page.
2. Then, go to the “Apps” area.
3. Now, on the right-hand pane, click “Apps & Features” to view the full list of apps.
4. Now, scroll down through the complete list of apps.
5. Here, find out “Whatsapp” in the list. Then, click on the three-dot menu and tap “Advanced options“.
6. Coming on to the next page, find the Let this app run in the background option.
7. Set this to “Always” using the drop-down option.
Now, close the Settings app. Then, relaunch Whatsapp and check. If this solution doesn’t work, go for the next solution.
Fix 5 – Give Whatsapp the necessary permissions
Whatsapp won’t work without having properer app permission.
1. You have to press the Windows key+S keys or directly type “whatsapp” in the search box.
2. Then, right-tap “Whatsapp” and tap “App Settings” to open the app settings directly.
3. This will lead you to the advanced app settings.
4. Here, just scroll down a little bit until you find the App Permissions page.
5. Here, toggle all these settings to “On“.

Now, if you have an instance of WhatsApp already running on your system, terminate it and start a fresh version of the app again.

Fix 6 – Log out and log in
Another common solution you can try is to log out of the app and sign in again.
1. Launch Whatsapp on your desktop.
2. Then, click on the gear icon on the left-hand pane to open the Settings directly.
3. In the Settngs page, click “General” to open that.
4. Then, click “Log out” to log out of the app at once.
5. You will be asked for confirmation. Tap “Log out” to log out from Whatsapp once again.
You will see the base page of Whatsapp with a QR code has opened up,
Now, as you have logged out, you can re-login using your mobile device only.
So, follow these steps on Whatsapp on your phone –
1. Open Whatsapp.
2. Then, tap the three-dot menu on the corner and then, tap “Linked devices“.
3. Now, click on “LINK A DEVICE” to link a new device.
Then, use your smartphone camera to scan the QR code on the Whatsapp app on your PC.
Whatsapp will recognize your account instantly and within a few more seconds, you will have all your important chats, media files, and contacts in Whatsapp app again.

Fix 7 – Repair/Reset Whatsapp
If none of the fixes have helped you, probably you are dealing with app corruption. Repair it and test it.

1. At first, right-click the Windows icon and tap the “Apps & Features” setting.
2. Then, find “Whatsapp” among all other apps.
3. Next, click the three-dot menu beside it and tap “Advanced options“.
4. Now, here inside the main app settings, scroll down until you see the “Repair” option. Just, tap it to repair the app.
Now, just minimize the Settings page and launch Whatsapp. Check if repairing the app has fixed the issue.
5. If the problem re-appears, go back to Settings again.
6. Next, tap the “Reset” option. When you see the confirmation prompt, tap “Reset” once more.
Once the app is reset, you have to log in to Whatsapp once again and check.
Fix 8 – Uninstall Whatsapp and reinstall
Finally, all that is left is to uninstall Whatsapp and reinstall it from Store.
1. You can easily uninstall the app. Just type “whatsapp” in the search box.
2. Next, right-tap “Whatsapp” and tap “Uninstall” to uninstall the app.
If you see a confirmation prompt on your screen, assert to it and completely uninstall the app.
3. When the app is uninstalled, open Microsoft Store.
4. In the Store app, type “whatsapp” in the search box.

Fix 9 – Use Whatsapp on the web
The easiest alternative solution is to use Whatsapp on a web browser.
1. Open a browser and go to the Whatsapp web.
2. Now, you will see a QR code inside.
3. Now, open Whatsapp on your mobile.
4. Then, tap the three-dot menu on the corner and then, tap “Linked devices“.
5. Now, click on “LINK A DEVICE“.
Just scan the QR code on the web page and that’s it! Use Whatsapp on the web browser.

If you are using Opera, you can directly find Whatsapp on the sidebar. It is actually the web version of Whatsapp, but it works very well and you don’t even have to open a new tab. It works as an overlay.
