Running Windows 10 on a desktop and I had keyboard lag with a four second or more lag from the time I typed to the time the screen showed the updated info. Sometimes, I could type out a whole sentence and nothing would appear and then 4-6 seconds later it showed up on the screen. I removed zoom software and the problem went away and never came back.

I purchased a new keyboard because I thought the actual keyboard had the problem, but no. I happened to move my dongle and without restarting my program all issues were gone.. I also went to FIX # 1. settings to see Use filter keys to see if “ignore brief or repeated keystrokes and change keyboard repeat rates was off. I clicked on then back off. Maybe that fixed it too???

For me, the wireless keyboard (Logitech K270) had lagging and dropout. The wireless mouse occasionally had click dropouts. The cause was interference by the external hard drive sitting on my desk in a direct line (about 24 inches) between the usb wireless receiver dongle on the back of the computer. When the hard drive was moved back on top the computer or was on the desk with the data cable unplugged there was no issue.
Others have reported using a usb cable extender and placing the usb dongle next to the keyboard.

I tried these steps and accidentally missed step 1 and now my laptop is stuck in the loop of choosing your keyboard layout and how can I fix it

Just wanted to comment and say thanks. I’ve been struggling with this for a while now and could not find a solution. The regedit step resolved my issue. No lag or dropped keystrokes after adding PollStatusIterations.

emmmm tq who tell about the usb without follow all the hard solution. just an usb prob. move ur usd keyboard/mouse beside lan cable. then it solve. simple

I know this sounds too simple.. We did a clean install of Windows 10 on my desktop. we installed k545 keyboard and before the windows install had the usb receiver in a usb 2.0 port in the back. ” WE” decided to move the USB receiver to a usb 3.0 port in the front for better reception. After the installation was done, we spent 2 days trying to figure out why the keyboard was stalling.. finally I asked, “what if we moved the receiver back to the original port in the back?” Voila!!!! no more problems.. it worked much better in the USB 2.0 port than the USB 3.0 port.. switch it around to a different port to see if that helps

I tried fix 2 and stupidly did not note my original setting. The remark at the end ‘You will not experience lag during typing’ is correct…I can no longer use my laptop keyboard at all now. I am trying to find a way to get back to my original settings. Can only use an external keyboard/mouse on my laptop.
